As Contractor’s Consultant, we delivered advanced infrastructure engineering services for critical pipeline crossings across Assiut, Minya, and Qena governorates, Egypt, under funding and technical oversight aligned with World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) standards. Using advanced pipe jacking (trenchless) techniques, the works enabled installation beneath sensitive roadway, waterway, and agricultural corridors along the Nile Valley with minimal surface disruption. Our scope included detailed technical studies and engineering reports, supported by geotechnical and hydrogeological investigation of Nile alluvial conditions, groundwater regimes, and soil-structure interaction, informing jacking force predictions and ground control measures for each site.
We developed an integrated structural design covering thrust force calculations, pipe stress analysis, and jacking/reception pit design, with jacking operations optimized through lubrication systems and interjack stations to reduce friction and maintain stable face pressure. The approach also included precise alignment control, real-time settlement monitoring, and risk mitigation for face stability and groundwater ingress, ensuring compliance with the safeguard and quality standards expected under international lender oversight.
