In alignment with Methanex Egypt’s standards of excellence, UGCE was selected as the general consultant for the New Technical Building at the Damietta Plant. This collaboration allowed us to provide specific needs of this important project, contributing to Methanex Egypt’s increasing success in the industry. Our comprehensive scope of work encompassed full architectural, structural, and MEP design services, along with the preparation of tender documents. Through our detailed approach, we ensured that the New Technical Building would support the plant’s operations while achieving quality and safety.
Methanex Egypt, a joint venture of Methanex Corporation, stands as the only methanol production facility in Egypt and a vital force in the country’s oil, gas, and petrochemicals sector. Located on the Mediterranean Sea in Damietta, the plant boasts a production capacity of up to 1.3 million tons of methanol per year, primarily supplying domestic and European markets. Renowned for being among the most energy-efficient methanol plants globally, Methanex Egypt has also earned recognition for its commitment to develop a Process Safety Management framework for the Egyptian oil and gas sector.
